A-Core Pole Fitness Centre — protocol regarding COVID-19
The protocol below was introduced to keep our community safe (update 04/06/2020). Key points are summarised here, with the original signed protocol document reproduced beneath.
Key points
- All participants must understand and acknowledge the changes implemented, and commit to respecting them.
- Participation in classes can only occur on agreement to these rules and guidelines, and completion of the waiver and health declaration — participants take part at their own risk and must not exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms.
- Arrival times are extended and staggered before class to allow for cleaning and segregation.
- Class timetable and participation numbers were reduced to allow for safe instruction, entry, exit and cleaning of the studio.
- An instructor on site helps direct participants and clean the venue for the next class.
- A changing-room / cleaning station was implemented for storage of personal items.
- Students must maintain good hygiene and ensure they are clean before attending a class.
- Poles, mats and floor are cleaned after every participant that has used them.
- Participants should provide their own yoga mats / bricks and other potential, non-fixed equipment.
- Participants must adhere to social distancing where required, maintaining distance throughout the visit.
- Enough time is left between classes for one group to disperse before the next arrives, and to properly clean and ventilate the studio.
- If a participant has one or more symptoms of the virus, they must not attend the class.
- Spotting is not currently permitted, as this violates distancing rules — the time is used to maintain technique rather than advancing to moves outside the participant's comfort.
- Participants may bring their own water, hand grip, hand sanitiser, flannel or towel, which should not be shared.
- Only one person to a pole / equipment is recommended unless participants are from the same household.
